A low breath escaped his lips when she blurted out the subject that he had planned on bringing up gingerly. His brow furrowed for a moment and he shifted to hold her close, pressing her head to his chest as he closed his eyes to think things through. "First of all, Bree will be very successful in keeping Dane in line when you go into your heat. Female mates are very possessive, ye ken." He paused a moment, thinking it over for a long moment before he finally decided to broach the subject. "Ye ken, when Bree first arrived she didnae ken she was a dragon. Her powers were bound by a necklace, a powerful fertility charm that kept her from turning into her dragon form. I did much research into it and found that it's purpose was to limit a litter to one whelp and to make sure the whelp was born into a human form." He swallowed just a moment as he held her, praying she would take this the right away and not think him an ass for even suggesting it. "I think tis a good idea for ye to wear it while ye are in season, lass. Yer body...it wouldnae be able to support the health of ye and whelps and I cannae bare to risk losing ye. Ye are more important to me then any whelps we may have ye ken and I would be happy with just ye forever but if we do want whelps, I think we should go about it one whelp at a time. Tis would be easier to raise too, Aye? Much easier then chasin' about five, fire breathin' wee ones." Finally, he paused, taking a deep breath as he waited to hear her reply. On second thought, he opened his mouth again. "And I think it may stop yer moonsickness from being passed down to the whelp also since ye would be in human form and your dragon side would be bound."
