Author: Cece, very glad that I am not a Paleolitic being.
Subject: I agree with doc. I've been going to Weight Watchers every week for 8 yrs. We have a great group of supportive people and it's a lot of fun. I don't track every day of my life, but when I do track, I lose. It's as simple as that. WW teaches you how to control your portions. However, eating a varied diet, exercising, and enjoying food (not just stuffing it down or pigging out), gives you a better quality of life than eating a lot of rubbish and being sedentary..(Inside)
In reply to: doc 's message, "True, permanent weight loss only happens the old-fashioned way--HARD WORK & GOOD NUTRITION! Our whole extended family is participating in a weight loss-get heathy challenge this year. I'm down 34 pounds since mid January! I'm using My Fitness Pal to track ALL my caloric intake, thus I'm learning appropriate portion control, nutrient/macro requirements and have started an exercise program to attain a true & long lasting lifestyle change. Inside for my program..." on 08:34:17 04/13/13 Sat

We may or may not live longer, but we should at least enjoy being here. I like WW because I can eat anything...it's up to me. I originally lost 42 lbs over a year, and I've maintained my weight with just the usual small fluctuations. I try to stay away from trans fats and too many saturated fats, mainly for my post heart attack husband, but also for my own sake. But when I want a pizza, I make a darn good one and enjoy every bit.

I do have a problem, however. I am a bread fanatic: ciabbata, foccasia, Persian sangat, Turkish, French, hotcross buns, scones, muffins, fab paninis, baguettes, not to mention all varieties of pasta.... (you get the picture.) But I have been diagnosed with Coeliac's disease and gluten is verboten. Soooooooooo....no more lovely bread. Just a lot of expensive, tasteless, GF stuff. It's okay, and I'm getting used to not having sandwiches even for a treat. But it is a pain in the neck. ,

Yeah, yeah....I know...there's SUCH a lot of GF foods available. Well NO there isn't. Coeliac's is in my family, so I am aware of what's available. I feel so irritated with the food fadists who have nothing wrong with them, who will eventually get tired of their temporary chosen way of eating...vegan, carnivore, gluten free for no reason, no dairy, no red meat, ONLY red meat, raw food, no grains, no lactose, only organic...yada yada yada. Overall, we are much healthier and live a lot longer than our predecesors, and most of the rest of the world. We are lucky. Just enjoy what we have and can eat, go easy on the fast foods, and GET MOVING.
