Guess its finally dawning on me that my house sold within three days of being listed! Was expecting it would take a little longer and have had to really turn up the burners. Lived here for 35 years -- no one should be allowed to accumulate so much 'stuff'! Maybe I'm really a horder. Have to out of here in 10 days. Am getting soooo tired......but, next month this time I should be settled. LOL Wish me luck! -- HarmyBoard LifeStyles

That's exactly what I went through to sell my Mom's house by myself and living 100 miles away! I cleaned out whatever I could whenever I was there. My piles were: my sister, three cousins, and an aunt, plus the trash, donate and save piles. The save pile was all mine -- yeah, all mine. Of all these women and their children, none were interested in, "that old stuff" aka antique furniture, china, crystal, etc. (I've been selling anything that will go and will finance my move quite nicely!) Also burned up two shreaders getting rid of all the personal info on every relative I think I have/had. Bottom line here, for me its genetic! Can certainly call this 'adventure' a walk through history.......

Will probably have the 'vapors' when the moving company agent comes tomorrow to give the estimate. Did find out that Habitat for Humanity will pick-up good, usable furniture -- not taking the big furniture 'cause don't think it will fit into an apartment. WOW! That's amazing that your house sold that fast. If I had to move in 10 days after living in this house for 40 yrs I would have a heart attack. And I am not a hoarder! LOL! In fact, I'm the opposite. But, with all my family tree info and crafting stuff plus my husband's computer room. It would take for ever. Please be careful about shredding old family documents. You may want them some day to do your family tree. LOL! After my Granmother died my Aunt Mary burned all my Grammy's old letters from her father. I could have killed her.
