[> Thought moving from Va. Bch. to Richmond would eliminate the worring over coastal storms -- well, put that theory away! Its been raining here since last night. Each wind gust seems to be stronger than the one before. Of course, the local TV channels are keeping us up to date on this Frakenstorm -- they're telling us the worse is yet to come. Va. Bch. doesn't seem to be faring very well -- the old fishing pier was on a newscast earlier and wasn't looking good. Best we can do is stay inside! -- carramor, 12:30:39 10/29/12 Mon [1]

[> [> Arlington, VA. chiming in here- it is *NASTY* out there!!! Really scared for my 70+ year old maple tree out front- hoping it doesn't fall over! Praying my roof and basement fare well, too. Hope everyone in this storm's path is safe and comes through with little to no damage! -- Matou/Carol, 18:42:07 10/29/12 Mon [1]

[> Cold rain and biting wind here in southwestern West Virginia on Monday evening. Temps hovering in mid-30s. Roads covered in water. We are expected to continue to get only rain over the next day but it is snowing in the higher elevations which are about an hour away from me. Lots of snow -- 10 - 18 inches or more and blowing causing some whiteout conditions. -- Araninda, 21:28:33 10/29/12 Mon [1]

[> [> Well, so much for the weather forecast. Our rain turned to snow. . .lots and lots of snow. About 6 inches here where I live and well over a foot in the mountains. Everything at a standstill today because the snow was unexpected and the road crews were unprepared. Power blipped intermittently most of the day fortunately stayed on. -- Araninda, 22:24:26 10/30/12 Tue [1]

[> The aftermath of Frankenstorm...I'm safe in the Adirondacks of NY, but the winds were bad, the many TALL trees behind my house just swayed and leaned until I had my doubts, leaves are ALL over the place in layers, minimal amount of rain or loss of power...we did good!! The sun is trying to come out. Hope the rest of you in the threatened areas are safe and, Cathy F., I'm trying to get back to you from your email. Things have been hectic! -- jenks, 06:16:40 10/30/12 Tue [1]
