LEGEND OF THE ICICLES. The little boy named Jesus had a busy day. Like any healthy toddler, he discovered that here were trees to climb, wood scrapes to play with, rocks to throw, and paths just right for running a race. By late afternoon, a cold wind had kicked up, bringing with it a bone-freezing rain. Hoping to escape the frigid, wet weather, the little boy ran to a nearby pine tree for shelter. As he waited for the storm to stop, Jesus soon fell a sleep. The pine tree had often sheltered little boys and travelers under it's sturdy branches. But when the tree realized that this time it was protecting THE SON OF GOD, tears of happiness fell from it's branches. The tears froze into icicles. Legend says that is why today icicles are sometimes used as decorations on Christmas Trees.
