[> Told ya! LOL Every time you turn around there is another fee or something to pay for. It's TOO DARN EXPENSIVE to be a high school senior nowadays! LOL -- The Chief (inside for a tip), 20:41:01 12/08/11 Thu [1]

If she's taking any AP courses, check with the colleges she plans to go to to see if they accept the test scores for those AP classes. Not all colleges do. Since you have to PAY to take the AP test, if your child goes to a school that doesn't use or accept the score, then you've wasted the $$. I think it's $35 per test, but if she's taking more than one, it can add up. That way, she gets the benefit of the AP class on her transcript, but not the stress or expense of the test. I had a friend who found that out 25+ years ago. Since she was working to pay for her own expenses, she saved herself some money.

[> [> Pay to take an AP test? Really? I took 6 AP tests when I was in high school a few...ahem...years ago and I (and my parents) didn't have to pay for any of them. -- JAG Junkie (Ronda)--I guess the school covered the cost., 03:54:25 12/12/11 Mon [1]

[> [> [> Yes, the school would have covered it because it's just like taking an SAT - it's a nation-wide curriculum and therefore a nation-wide set of tests. I think our school covered the cost as well, but I know it does cost money. -- The Chief, 18:33:57 12/12/11 Mon [1]
