Subject:
How the hell do I get myself into these situations?

(He had woken up from the eleven hour flight to find his partner in an impossibly worse mood than when they had left and he found himself wondering if his lisense to kill extended to Kyrian was well. He couldn't help but smirk as he sat in the left hand passenger seat and peered under the raised hood at Kyrian who was grousing as he pulled the tubes on the rental to make it look broken down. When the door opened and Kyrian pulled out his black duffle so they could walk the remaining half mile up to the castle- yes that was a castle up there on the hill- he hid his smirk and reached back to get his own bag before climbing out and looking up at the keep. He recalled for a moment that his father had told him his cousin had gotten married and moved to Scotland and that his Great Uncle Seth had come to visit the place and it was supposed to be some grand fairy tale castle... and the foggy rain was making it look more and more like a fairy tale with each passing moment.) Will you stop gawking before we both get hypothermia? (He groused, already walking towards the keep. If anything, Kyrian looked stronger and meaner than ever.. he had thrown himself into training the past week and had gotten himself into record shape in record time.. and had turned away from everyone whenever they attempted to talk to him. He still felt betrayed by everyone around him, and had been looking out for Remy from a distance, making sure his partner didn't overexert himself without appearing to be concerned about him. He had never felt so alone and angry in his life, had never been so disappointed in the people around him like he was then.. Remy had done nothing but look down at him for his mistakes and Haylie.. God, it hurt just to think about her.. he missed her more with every second that passed and it seemed as though she had just given up on him without looking back, and that hurt the worst of all. His fears had been proven true, and all he could think of was that if he had gotten married to her.. she would have just left him at his first mistake later on and it would have hurt worse.. if that was at all possible. When they reached the door of the keep, they were soaked to the bone, and the older lady opened the door she ushered them inside and into the greathall where they met Dare.) (He smirked as he followed his partner up to the castle, sticking his tongue out at his back for the grumbling he received for taking a moment to look at the castle, which Kyrian seemed incapable of seeing. Perhaps the time away would be good for him, kick the bad mood out of him. When they were inside the greathall, he patted Kyr's shoulder and took over from him, speaking to the man who introduced himself as the Laird of the castle, explaining to him about their broken down rental and the fact that they were days from their destination.. and could they have shelter for the night. He smiled when Kyrian broke in as they had rehearsed.) (He had been having his nightly glass of port while Jailynn was upstairs changing into her pajamas and had gotten to his feet when the cold, damp burst of air accompanied the two strange men into his greathall. He had been gracious in hearing their stories and upon hearing from the shorter of the two that one of the men had a heart condition that he was recovering from, he decided that he couldn't really allow them wandering around the highlands in this weather - he wouldn't wish that on anyone.) Aye, we have plenty of rooms and ye can stay until the weather clears.. we'll get someone out in the mornin' to collect yer vehicle. (He said as he looked them over, at least the taller one appeared to be jovial.. he had a feeling, however, that his brother wouldn't get along with the shorter one with the fierce eyes.) Nell will show ye to the guest wing so ye can get out of yer wet clothes, then please join me back here for a glass of port.. 'will warm ye up. (He said and then took his seat again as the woman led them off to their rooms.)

(Humming to himself, he was walking down from the office when he saw the two strange men unattended walking through the corridors of the keep. He cursed that he didn't have his sword and stopped in the hall.) State yer business. (He said in a commanding tone that had both men stopping where they were. They had just spent the past half an hour changing clothes and discussing game plans before heading back to the greathall and had taken a wrong turn in the blessidly large castle and ran into Dageus, who wasn't happy to see them.) (He was unfortunately the first to open his mouth, and arched an arrogant brow at the man before him, who was easily broader than him, though they were eye to eye when he stepped forward.) We're looking for the main room, we got lost. Now if you'd like to show us the way to go we'll be on our way. (His tone was dry because he was in a bad mood, and he didn't like being told to 'state' anything.) (He growled under his breath, his brother was always taking in wounded animals, seemed he had found a couple of beasts to bring into the keep.) Aye, I'll show ye - but I warn ye if I see ye in this wing again I'll nay be so easy on ye. And I usually carry a sword on me. (He said as he turned and led the way back down the hall, rolling his eyes.. damn americans and their attitudes.) (He glared at Kyrian, passing him and following the other man down the corridor. All three men stepped into the greathall moments later and were offered drinks by Dare, and when they sat, the other man just stood near the fire and glared at them as though guarding them.)
