 You're right. I failed to read the entire article. I caught my mistake when I reread the article in its entirety on the Eagle.
However, it must be pointed out that this was a hugely expensive endeavor. A 2 year investigation, jailing - however short lived - of 109 people, trial, court costs, probation,looming prison sentence, etc. The cost of law enforcement manpower alone far outstrips the $370,000 Indiana MAY recover from Lopez and exactly how is he expected to pay if he's in prison?

In other states Lopez would have faced fines and penalties not prison.
