In response to all the post that said what Doug did was no different than other officers who stop by their kids sporting event, go to the store, or etc. Their is a difference as I believe someone states before he knew where he was going and for what purpose he was going there for, which was to campaign. I have talked to many officers and was told that they can't even go vote in uniform or have their commission within a certain distance of a polling location. So going by that information election based activities are treated very differently than just your average softball game and I think it's looked at as if the person is in a uniform that could be considered as influential to getting votes, this is only my perception on this. It seems that this is something that he should've been aware of and had the common sense not to take the chance of putting his career in jeopardy all to be on the Lawrenceburg City Council.
