Wondering why they chose to prosecute or fire a professional police officer for being somewhere one time in uniform where he should not have been? Did he miss a 911 call or something I am not aware of?? Yep, I know that the law is the law, but common sense should be a part of using it wisely. I guess some people thought prosecuting might be a great stunt and get this Officer out of their face and prevent him from serving on Council. As a taxpayer, I am tired of the petty and childish things I see that are just a ridiculous waste of time and public money. Doesn't this officer have a boss who should have simply called him on the carpet, docked his pay or done what any rational, fiscally responsible organization would have done to fix it? Our County has demonstrated too many times that it is too arbitrary and sometimes show no common sense in what they pursue and who they go after. I cannot imagine the cost to replace a seasoned, experienced law officer for what looks like some really ridiculous political angling or personal problems. Others have done the same thing Doug Taylor has and worse. This is hypocrisy at it's best. By the way, I don't know Doug Taylor personally, I'm just talking common sense here. As for all the Council matters-I'm uninformed. I do think when there is a closed door to the public, it needs to be opened.
