The coroner's office would play a big role in the triage system and a coroner that would want to immediately go into death investigation while he is an EMT and could be helping to save the living is wrong. The triage should be set up in a way to allow the coroner to work with the system until the time he/she is no longer needed to help wiht the living. Then the coroner should go into death investigation.

It is worrysome that a potential coroner would even state that he would want to tie up resources to help with his system. The coroner's office should be well trained in NIMS and work with Fire, EMS and emergency management, not pull resources from them to help his department. Leave the resources for the living. There is plenty of time to handle the dead.
