I can tell you that the salary listed is exactly what my w-2 stated. I can also tell you that I worked overtime and holidays to get that salary. Keep in mind these figures show what the w-2 shows.....meaning, overtime, holidays and any extra pay is included. Teachers who also coach and receive pay for that, public safety workers and hospital workers that work holidays as part of their job but are paid extra on those days, Police officers that work special events.....etc..... I agree with salaries being public record for public employees, but I would like to see base pay listed. In my job, I can almost double my base pay by working special events, holidays and overtime. That means I am working double the hours that the average person works. The figure you see looks impressive, but it doesn't show you how many hours I worked to get to that figure.
