Fact: Watson is appointed, doesn't consult with his client (much).
Fact: Kelly was being accepted as second seat "pro hac vice" by Watson.
Fact: Watson withdraws because of nascent threat to other clients purported to be appearing before Humphrey.
Fact: Barrett is appointed, doesn't consult with his client. Also doesn't permit participation by Kelly.

The assertion has been made by some that Dan keeps running off his lawyers, but here's the problem. Watson had Kelly to do client management if he needed it. He didn't say he was withdrawing because of differences/conflict with his client. The reason he gives is threat to other clients. Am I wrong to suspect that it may have been threats to his own career, because...

Barrett gets appointed and won't let Kelly into the fray. Would it be beyond reason to suspect that the cause is that he has been pressured NOT to allow that to happen again. Would it be beyond reason to suspect that letting Kelly into the mix and the possibility that Dan might actually get representation is THE reason Watson had to go to save himself? Could it be that Barrett was read-in in advance with direction NOT to allow Kelly to participate "pro hac vice".

Could it be - beyond the obvious dirty tricks with meds, access at the jail, orange jumpers and pink cuffs, outrageous demand for juror identity "protection", pushing the limit of untried detention and then rushing to trial - Could it be that Negangard and his accomplices have actually tampered directly with Dan's defense, though intimidation in the first case and direct corruption in the second?

Why else would Barrett bar Kelly when the benefits are manifestly obvious? Why lose all that extra legwork? Why lose someone to whom you could delegate client management if Dan is so difficult to deal with?

The new (for me) information about Kelly's "pro hac vice" offer, linked with Barrett's pliant acceptance of the juror anonymity motion leads me to believe the fix is in. Is Barrett corrupt and playing for the other side? Or is this just incompetence that makes it LOOK like he is playing for the other team?
