Dan did not know any specific things about Judge Humphrey and his family until I googled, at his suggestion, James Humphrey, in April, 2011. It seems the Indiana Court Times interviewed the Judge and published the article in February, 2011. All of that was on the internet. In my mind, I thought the Judge was older. Dan only got all of that information after he was in jail. People in many lines of work function everyday in situations where they have to be aware. Judges, police officers, teachers particularly in urban areas, all have to be in tune to their surroundings. We also don't know the time line on the fear issue becaues the public defender didn't ask. Does any of this fear coincide with the Keith Jones issue. This was not brought up at trial. As a retired teacher I never cowered. My name and address have always been in the phone book. This was a civil issue. The true reason, I believe, that none of the frightened participants asked for restraining orders, or filed civil complaints was then they would be open to testifiing at a hearing on the action. They did not want to stand up and say what their part in the action was. They could, it is true, also been counter sued but what truth might they have been "afraid" of?
