Subject: Yay! I hope this show does well for a long time. Our man deserves it! As for the new name, I don't like it at all. I think it's dumb. Obviously I wouldn't want them to keep the original offensive title, but I think they could have come up with something better than this. JMHO.

[> [> [> Itīs really stupid. Either keep the original name (it was a book, wasnīt it?) And deal with offending some people,or give it a new title altogether. This just sounds like a badly censored version of the original. -- Jam (tell me if itīs any good, since it will be a while, if ever, we get to see it over here), 15:45:27 05/14/11 Sat [1]

[> [> [> [> [> AGREED! Ugh. Now it sounds like a debutante ball and will probably hurt ratings. Where's the creativity in Hollywood?? Even "Texas Belles" would be better, or maybe take a hint from rowdy Texas girl, Miranda Lambert and call it "Crazy Ex-Girlfriends". LOL -- The Chief, 10:01:32 05/15/11 Sun [1]

[> [> [> [> [> [> How about...."When God Fearing Women Get the Blues" with a nod to Martina McBride??? -- mkim Dont think they can leave "Christian" out of it, since it centers around of church going women. (I'm scared, considering the original title), 16:27:52 05/16/11 Mon [1]

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> Hey, looked up the lyrics for When God Fearin' Women Get the Blues.....They just might fit...Lock up your husbands...lock up your sons....lol -- mkim Call the boys downtown at Neiman-Marcus, tell 'em to lock up them high heeled shoes....(grin), 16:34:28 05/16/11 Mon [1]

Lock up your husbands
Lock up your sons
Lock up your whiskey cabinets
Girls lock up your guns
Lock up the beauty shop
No telling if they've heard the news
Call the boys downtown at Neiman Marcus
Tell 'em lock up them high-heeled shoes

When God Fearin' Women Get The Blues
There ain't no slap dab atellin' what they're gonna do
Run around yellin' "I gotta Mustang
It'll do eighty
You don't have to be my baby
I've stirred my last batch of gravy
You don't have to be my baby"

Call all the deacons
Call the ladies' aid
Call all the altos, sopranos, tenors, call every bass
Well, call all the Pentecostals
And bring that anointing oil too
Well call the preacher
He's the only one can reach her
And there ain't no time to lose

When God Fearin' Women Get The Blues
There ain't no slap dab atellin' what they're gonna do
Run around yellin' "I gotta Mustang
It'll do eighty
You don't have to be my baby
I've stirred my last batch of gravy
You don't have to be my baby"

She's on all our prayer lists
She's on all our hearts
As for the Easter cantata
We don't know who'll sing her part.

When God Fearin' Women Get The Blues
There ain't no slap dab atellin' what they're gonna do
Run around yellin' "I gotta Mustang
It'll do eighty
You don't have to be my baby
I've stirred my last batch of gravy
You don't have to be my baby

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> LOL Yep, that's pretty perfect! Altho, reading mkim's post makes me worry about the show a little more... (inside) -- The Chef, 00:44:41 05/17/11 Tue [1]

So it centers around a bunch of church ladies, eh? *sigh* I fear another Christian-bashing Hollywood-stereotyping show. Why don't they just call it "Houston Hypocrites", since that's what the title and the premise seem to suggest, i.e that if you're "Christian", you can't be normal. You have to be either weird, radical or hypocritical. A pretty shell with a bitch underneath.

If anyone knows anything more about this story concept and why I should try to watch it, please let me know! I'm so ready to support DJE in a primetime show, but not at the expense of my integrity and faith.

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> I know what youre saying, Chief. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt until I see for myself. Considering the orignal title, I'm afraid to expect too much. It could be a funny show, if they dont get viscious toward anyone with true faith...we'll see. Hypocrites deserve everything they get. If they do get viscous, I know how that channel selector works and I will defintely change that channel. -- mkim, 14:30:43 05/17/11 Tue [1]

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Iīd say she might be a bit too sensitive. It may very well be this show is not for her, but to boycott an entertainment program because the title contains the word Christian, in my book, takes it too far. -- Jam, 18:33:13 05/17/11 Tue [1]

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> People "boycott" or "aovid" things for all kinds of personal reasons. If someone is wary of a show that has the word "Christian" in the title, she has just as much reason to not watch it as someone who won't watch it because it contains the word "B*****s". Fortunately, in this case, the show is going to be stupid no matter what they call it, so Jenks friend will be in good company (i.e. ME! LOL) in not watching it! -- The Chief, 10:54:40 05/18/11 Wed [1]

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Of course itīs personal, just as perception of what is or is not stupid is highly subjective. I have no problem at all if someone says "I really donīt like the premise of this show, it doesnīt sound like something Iīd enjoy watching". But to generally exclude everything that contains one word? -- Jam ... my very personal take on things,, 11:33:03 05/18/11 Wed [1]
