Just an observation, but in ogling the screen caps below from “Love Sick” I noticed HAE’s eyes looked hazel, not green/blue. Is it just my computer? Or could he be wearing colored contacts for the role? I know, there’s so much to look at it’s hard to focus on above his neck only , but I’m curious if HAE’s eyes appear brownish to anyone else.   - I was at a gathering at a friend's house for dinner with a few Texas Tarts - we glanced at it from time to time during dinner and afterwards, then, when it was over CAZ turned on the tivo and fast forwarded to the HAE parts- boy was it a thril to see him again - when I didn't watch the plot, just saw his scenes, it was like watching my Harm in season 13 LOL!!!- I just kept pretending it was Mac - lol- I can't help it - I'll be a Harm Mac shipper to the grave. - WoW Hope! Thanks for the great screen caps! This movie was filmed in a town close to Vancouver, that I go through many many times. But alas, we don't get to SEE it! Now is that right? Is that fair?   - I had my misgivings about this movie too. But, I really do think this movie has something to say, though i dont think 2 hours is enough to do it. I wish there had been another hour, so that we could see more of the 'journey' to wellness, so that I could understand her addiction. The author posted her thoughts on the commentary after the movie on the DJEfan site. I think it was courageous of her to share this problem with the world & open herself up to ridicule.         Indeed, sexual addiction (or whatever it is -- looking for love in all the wrong places addiction, maybe?!) seemed glamorous with such beautiful people depicting it. And, like I said, in my post above -- considering the theme of the movie and considering that HAE has such a powerful , sexual screen presence, it just seemed twisted to cast him in this role!         He was definitely NOT a good guy in this movie, not one characteristic I saw could be seen as sympathetic. Did I LOVE seeing this guy on TV? YES!!         I loved seeing DJE ( WOW!). He did a great job, I didn't dislike him nor did I think that he was wonderful.         interesting comment - thank you for sharing. I never gave it any thought but I can see where like any addiction someone could use sex the same as others use drinking or gambling - We can attribute any of it to lack of self control or we can call it a disease. I'm a strong willed person so I consider it lack of self control- but regardless - the truth is that with any Vice- the thrill always comes before loved ones - that's true of gamblers who lose their homes, alcoholics who embarrass their families and sex addicts who sleep their spouse's friends.   - Well, ladies, I've read all the comments and I'll throw in my own. To begin with, Sue did have a divorce and Rick lost his family, too. Sue Silverman answered a number of your questions at the DJE Board and quite well, IMVHO. I liked that DJE took the role. This was not stupid as TSII.. He played a character with an addiction also and Rick has not changed. Some of you are condemning SS for her addiction.     - Not agreeing or disagreeing with comments made about the movie, but isn't it important to his career that DJE vary the types of roles he plays so he does not become sterotyped? We all loved Harm and Jimmy, but now DJE has to move on with his career and some of the characters he plays may not be the type of person we like, but as long as he protrays the character well, he's been successful.     - JMO, but DJE probably saw the role as a challenge. He is great in the Harm and the Jimmy style role, both wonderful three dimensional emotional characters, h/e this part was more one dimensional with a display of unhealthy emotions. In lots of ways that is the more difficult role to play. I love to see him in the family friendly roles, but he flexed his acting muscles a little bit (and his real muscles alot thank goodness). - I haven't seen all of the movie- but I've seen parts, read the comments, read part of the book and so I have a bit of a feel for the story and the characters. And I just have to say that I've known so many 'nice' people who acted exactly this way to their own detriment-- not to mention those around them.   - Okay, manette's reasoning always makes me feel like a rabid hothead shooting from the lip. First, the concept of the story. I won't comment further until I've seen it. Second, the quality of the filming, acting, story arc, I got from other people who did see it and weren't impressed. So again, I'll wait till I see it myself. As for good looking people looking sexy in such situations, they SO don't to me. But my personal distate is hardly evidential proof on which to base a judgement.   - I only saw bits and pieces. From what I saw I thought the movie turned out much better than what I expected & clearly since DJE has just been given the lead in a 4 hr 13million $ mini series- it hasn't hurt his career. The truth is- it's probably helped his career because the whole point of acting is to be able to portray ANYTHING & WELL. He's done that. He's played good guys, heroic guys, suffering guys (TMWLH) & now a sleazy hunk -& yes that man looked so good. He needs people to see him as something other than a lawyer in a business suit or uniform - this did that. - mkim, what a great discussion and I'm still laughing about how you opened up this whole line of comments -- 'I may hate myself in the morning' -- LOL -- but, seriously, having this all brought out was good, especially for those of us unable to see the actual performance in context of the movie. The clips and this discussion really gave me a much 'truer' perspective of HAE's role and portrayal. It was GREAT! I watched a movie last night on Lifetime. Throughout the show, they presented quite a few promos for Love Sick, and DJE was in almost all of them. And he was lookin' mighty fine.

    - Do you know what I never got? I dont get why there cant be a 'true' love scene in a movie or TV, not just the sex part of it.         I love "Shall We Dance"! I was so sure they were going to have him cheat on his wife, because that's the way Hollywood usually plays their films. I loved it when he showed up with the rose, and asked his wife to dance...she was his partner for life. Wonderful! Also loved the song from that scene, "The Book of Love" by Peter Gabriel. - I have heard that despite the lurid title, the story is handled very well. IMO, I don't think that DJE would accept a project that wouldn't test his abilities but in a good way. You never know when these little moments will pop up. I went with my Dad this morning when he had his colonscopy. He was the second person on the schedule. Imagine my surprise when the next person they called was David Elliott! Of course, he was an older man and in Pittsburgh, but I had a small smile on my face, went back to reading my book and thought oh my, if only..... I would have given anything to have been that nurse if only!

Only a sick nurse would have had those thoughts! I know I could have done his assessment! That would have been "Harmless."

- I was sent recently to the author's web site, www.suewilliamsilverman.com and told it would be helpful before the movie. I'm glad I read the 2 excerpts from her books (Love Sick is a sequel). The author also said she was surprised at how many women spoke to her or passed her notes thanking her for speaking out about it.
