"Knights of Bloodsteel" premiered last night (Sunday) on the Sci-Fi network. Did you watch it? If so, what did you think?

- I did, & first, let me say that I'm not really a Sci-Fi fan. I have watched everything that is available to us to see with DJE and I've been able to 'believe' the character, even if I didnt like the character very much. However, I have to say, I couldnt 'believe' DJE as John Serragoth. (I found myself cringing...alot)Please dont throw tomatoes, its a personal preference. - I have to agree with mkim about this movie. I am not a fan of science fictions either although I did like Impact.. At time he did not even sound right and it was not the accent.     - Impact is the one I'm looking forward to - Fantasy (which I think is what this is considered more than just sci fi) is really not my cup of tea - and no matter how handsome or good an actor is - If you don't like the role - eh...   - I've seen some of that too. What I resent is that some never have given DJE a good review no matter what he does. I hate snarky people who make themselves famous talking people down, which is why it was hard to say out loud that I just didnt like it. I will continue to follw his career, but I hope he sticks to the real world, I can relate when he does that.       - David cannot be blamed for the inconsistent Scottish accent. It has been reported in an article interview with David that the producers felt his initial Scottish Burr might be too difficult to understand. Since they had already shot several days of footage, his accent was diminished by TPTB--not David's poor voice quality. IMHO--It should have been left as is as he was doing a wonderful Scottish Burr which was easily understandable and lent more legitimacy to the storyline. - I found the story hard to get into so I concentrated on DJE - his eyes, his movements - just everything about him - I did observe that he seemed not to be able to put his hands in his pockets again and assumed the usual JAG hands on the hips position, He was very sexy with his sexy broad shoulders and long hair - not to mention the closely shaved beard. He also had a 'deal' with that woman he is teamed up with - the 'kiss' I believe. That was funny. I can skip over everyting else but him - it is so good to see him again. - Compared to some of the other movies I have seen on Sci Fi, I didn't think that it was that bad. I guess I chose to look at it like it was a popcorn/comic book type flick. They played it for fun and it may not have been the best but it wasn't the worst either. ITA with BT, DJE really looked smoking in leather. - I am not a Sci-Fi fan either but I did like StarTrek a lot. I was more focused on DJE & his abilitites than anything else. I was impressed with his skill in the action sequences & sword fighting. - It's funny because I do enjoy some sci fi stuff, and I actually enjoyed the LOTR movies, but I watched this movie a week or two ago and just didn't think it was up to par. Plus, DJE's accent faded in and out a few times, which really bugged me. But, I watched it all the way through just to see him, even though I will probably never watch it again, sadly enough. - I admit that I didn't care for it. I don't much care for any SciFi other than Lord of the Rings and the first few Harry Potter, and even those, I had to have read before I could understand the plot lines. I lasted about an hour, then gave up. I also don't much care for the long-haired unshaven look, even on such a hunk as DJE. I agree, though, it was nice to have him back on TV.   - can't say much about the movie since I haven't seen it - but I do agree on one thing - I fell in love with the clean shaven rogue who strode out of a chopper and onto a flight deck in a crisp white uniform - no - the long hair - unshaven face - dressed in leather rags does not in any way appeal to me - I don't care who the hunk is - lol. - I must say that I agree with those who didn't care for the movie. I don't know whether it's the writing, the directing or both, but we all know that DJE is capable of delivering an excellent performance. - On the SciFi channels Knights of Bloodsteel site a woman brags how they filmed the movie in 33 days instead of a lot longer as a 4 hours mini-series normally takes. I think that shows in the final product and the fact that they did not take the time to have DJE redo over his lines to tone down the accent for scenes already filmed.   - i enjoyed tonight more in part because there was more DJE in it than last night, but I still found it a bit hard to watch. Way too much "atmosphere" in the deep, dark forrest to be able to track the faces very well. The best view of David came in the sequence at the end. They finally put some light on him! - How many of us would have lasted 5 minutes watching this if DJE had not been in it? As it was, I turned it off after 30 minutes last night and switched to PBS to watch American Experience. Now, I am a fan of Sci-Fi, so I can't blame a lack of interest for my reaction. This thing was so bad it isn't funny. Did DJE have fun making it? Absolutely. I think they all had a wonderful time making the movie. Unfortunately the acting was abysmal, even by guys who can do much better, like Chris Lloyd & DJE.   - If you'd like to see it, mj, I can tell you where you can watch it online, but honestly, you're not missing much. I know DJE said he thought the script was well written, but I'd have to respectfully disagree. - All of our discussions brings about some serious questions. What if the show had been similar to Babylon 5 or StarGate or one of the other paramilitary type SciFi shows that we have enjoyed in the past. Wonder what our critisims would be.   - It is nice to hear someone else think that DJE has had difficulty finding a good role. He looked awful in this movie and just did not see to be into the character. The only thing I can say is it isn't as trashy as Love Sick, I was horrified that he even took such a role as that. Everything about it was horrible from the storyline to the acting by everyone, etc. I had to laugh at your comment about DJE looking awful and dirty because it was exactly what I was thinking.     - Well, doc, I'm not exactly 'in the know' about the acting biz or DB's influence in Hollyweird, but I truly don't think anyone in Hollywood or LA is THAT powerful -- it just seems like such a fickle community. I think DJE is a fine, albeit, underrated actor like Mark Haron who also faded from the scene after several successful years in 'St. Elsewhere' and then came back in another hit when the stars were aligned. inside -- mj, 12:14:44 04/22/09 Wed

    - Hi doc, I'm not an industry insider but I do have a couple of comments. I think the odds of DPB possibly blackballing DJE is giving DPB too much credit. First of all, while I think we all know that DPB has quite an ego, the fact of the matter is is that he is a highly successful writer/executive producer who has had highly successful TV shows for years, including NCIS (eventhough he's not involved in the day to day stuff it's stiil his show) .   - ALifetimes highest rated show would get canceled if it were on network TV. You have to realize Lifetime and Hallmark are a small potatoes when it comes to primtime TV. Highest rated shows there would be bottom of the barrel on Primetime Network tv. That is the big difference in Network and Cable.       - There are sevral shows on networks TV that are on the "bubblt" right now who have ratings in the 8-9's. This is actually a really good decision on the part of CB's management team. The ratings can be lower and you can still say you are on a "hit" show. A hit for cable anyway. (NT) -- Trish...DJE has a great agency, one of the best in Hollywood. - I have not had an opportunity to watch the series as I live in the UK. However, I like all your honest opinions. I love sci fi/fantasy anyway so I am hoping I will enjoy it when I get the opportunity to see it. However, I have to say I do much prefer the clean shaven look. I enjoyed Impact which I did manage to see it was cheesy but I liked seeing David in a role like that could have done with a bit more action as he stood around a lot spouting scientific jargon which he did very well. - Well, I liked KOB -- and as for someone asking about the modern day slang thing - I was able to put into my mind that Mirabilis wasn't on Earth. It was another planet, with differences. It was fantasy. I didn't like the movie Lovesic, but David looked great imho. Impact was good, and Im looking forward to Gooby and Rainbow Tribe when they're released.   - I don't think that's it at all nancyeddy. I don't see Dje as only Harm and can't see him doing anything else, but since Jag he hasn't done anything good since Jag. It's got to be good in order for me to watch, no matter how much I like the actor or actress. KOB was just awful and I hope this stuff isn't all he's getting offered. Impact was horrible, Gooby was cute for kids, but Dje wasn't in it hardly at all and it wasn't a stretch of his action skills. Love Sick was just awful as well. - I'm so glad I wasnt the only one who HATED this movie. I am a HUGE sci-fi fan. I have every Startrek TNG book, ALL the Sargate SG-1 episodes, BOTH movies, most of the books. HUGE fan. i had my popcorn made, my frosty Pepsi at my side and....BLAH!!! I changed the channel maybe 30 minutes in. I wanted to LOVE it, I really did but GAH....the script was horrible. I just wanted to give a heads up that the movie "Gooby" is showing in more and more theaters all the time. There is a list of specific theaters on their website:

Several of us have mentioned wanting DJE in a new series on network TV. If you had the power to produce a new series for him, what would be the premise of the show? What would his character be? Would he be a big game hunter in Africa, an undercover agent fighting terrorists, a doctor, a lawyer or an Indian chief? - We've discussed this before, but I could see him as a Benton Wesley type, i.e. an FBI profiler. A very cerebral role, good guy, solving crime, but something a little different than the lawyer role of Harm. And I would love to see CB plying Kay Scarpetta, highly successful forensic pathologist & not afraid to go toe-to-toe, or something similar. (inside) -- doc, 16:53:39 04/22/09 Wed

- I'd like to see him in uniform, in a military role, no surprise, I know. He just does something for it that alot of actors cant. - Something like a 'Hart to Hart' series or a 'Dempsey and Makepiece' (this is a British show -- 2 detectives -- one male, one female who bantered and flirted, but always got the crooks and it was MUCH more sophisticated than 'Moonlighting' -- -- more understated and wry humuour which I think would suit DJE more than a silly David addison-type). Of course, I would LOVE to see CB playing opposite him. Also, this type of series would be perfectly do-able at their ages and with their looks now. They would sizzle -- I'm up for some sizzle!!! In connection with the posts below I just want to say that the taste of DJE last night was a long time coming. Watching only him made me miss him more and more on weekly TV. Even though he has a couple of movies coming up and the time off between movies is what he loves, I just hope he knows that his fans sorely miss him and the fans that don't frequent this type of site to get a DJE/Harm fix may forget about him all together. First, a new miniseries to be shown July 19 & 26...called The Storm. According to The Futon Critic:

ABC nabs rights to German miniseries "Impact"

COLOGNE, Germany (Hollywood Reporter) - ABC has acquired the U.S. TV rights to "Impact," a four-hour miniseries about a meteor that strikes the moon and sends it on a collision course with Earth.

NBC Universal's Sci Fi Channel has picked up second-window rights to the disaster drama, which stars David James Elliott, Natasha Henstridge, Steven Culp and James Cromwell and is directed by Michael Rohl ("Eureka").

ABC is expected to air it in the summer as a limited series.

The $14 million miniseries was produced by Germany's Tandem Communications, Jaffe/Braunstein Entertainment and Muse Entertainment and sold by Tandem.

Sci Fi has a strong track record with Tandem shows, with the futuristic tale "Lost City Raiders" and fantasy epic "Ring of the Nibelungs" having scored ratings gold for the channel.

The sale to ABC is a high-water mark for Tandem, which has carved a niche in high-end TV events by combining international financing with U.S.-bankable casts and scripts.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has acquired U.S. video rights to "Impact."

We all have different reasons for coming to this board, it’s been about JAG and Harm but these days, it’s as much about talking to and supporting each other, as anything else. I love goofing about Harm and me and Harm and the Tarts,(smile) because it’s just fun and also, it’s not real. Being a fan of the character of Harm and of DJE, kind of gives us all a bond and we’ve sort of expanded on that and made this portal, that judi has made possible, a forum to talk about everything from what’s on TV or the movies, to what’s going on in our lives.

Recently, a situation has come to my attention that has filled me will a strong need to define myself as a fan of JAG, Harm and DJE.

I don't watch 'Grey's Anatomy' unless there's nothing else on when I FINALLY get to watch TV, but if DJE would be cast, I would watch faithfully! I think it's time for the hospital there to get a new 'injection'. DJE would absolutely be 'Dr. McHunksy', for sure and I could see a slew of fantastic storylines with him in the house! The part about The Guard:

The Guard, produced by Halifax Film and Brightlight Pictures Inc., is shot in the scenic wilderness of Squamish, British Columbia. A character-driven ensemble series, it focuses on the lives of four imperfect, offbeat and sometimes difficult, but heroic Canadian Coast Guard Rescue specialists who face danger daily out on the Pacific Ocean, saving lives as they search for meaning in their own. This gripping, high-action drama series stars Steve Bacic (21 Jump Street, Tailhook) as Duty Captain Miro Da Silva, Jeremy Guilbaut (Edgemont) as Rescue Specialist Andrew Vanderlee and Sonya Salomaa (Durham County) as First Mate Laura Nelson. David James Elliot (JAG, Closer to Home) also guest stars in the recurring role of David Nelson.

- See this is what I was worried about. They are gong to show this movie the same way they did The Rainbow Tribe, in small inconsequential theatres for one day and one time in minimal festival theatres. This is exactly as TRT and we aren't going to be able to see this one either. - Just finished watching the whole show and found it really great-- suspenseful, well-acted, and it had DJE! But, yesterday I was flipping through UK channels and found a movie called 'Earthstorm' which was eerily almost identical to 'Impact', but starred Stephen Baldwin. It was pathetic!!!
