Subject: NEWSFLASH! I just saw this on Deadline Hollywood.

JAG alum David James Elliott has been added to the cast of ABC's dramedy pilot Good Christian Bitches. It stars Leslie Bibb as Amanda, a mother of two and onetime “mean girl” in high school who returns home to Dallas humbled following a scandalous divorce, hoping to get a second chance at winning over her old classmates. Elliott will play the husband of one of Amanda's former classmates, Darlene (Kristin Chenoweth). Elliott, repped by Paradigm and Rain Management, is recurring on CSI.

[> HATE the title. That's NOT a family-friendly name for a TV show. *sigh* REALLY? Sounds like the TX version of Desperate Housewives. UGH. C'mon David. You can do, and deserve, better. -- The Chief, 23:45:45 03/15/11 Tue [1]

[> [> Agreed. The title is offensive and may keep many from ever watching. -- JAG Junkie (Ronda), 06:38:59 03/16/11 Wed [1]

[> I'm surprised they would use that in the title. Inside for another article about the show - this is about Kristin Chenoweth and doesn't mention David, but gives a tiny bit more information about the show. -- SeaBeth, 23:49:25 03/15/11 Tue [1]

[> I agree about the title. I wonder what ABC is thinking. I'd think that the title would be a turn-off for a lot of people. Isn't ABC owned by Disney? -- Lee, 00:07:40 03/16/11 Wed [1]

[> Well, KC is a fine, very talented actress and that is really a GOOD thing for DJE. Plus, the show does have alot going for it, the creator of an A-list shoe (SATC -- which, btw, I had a love/hate relationship with), it's a major network pilot, and DAVID! The name is abhorrent for such a public forum and I would think they would have to change it . And if they DON'T -- well, that says alot about how low the bar has descended in society. -- mj, 04:04:23 03/16/11 Wed [1]

[ Edit | View ]

[> [> I agree that working with KC will give DJE more exposure to people who "matter", maybe even help him step toward his Broadway dreams. But like you, mj, I hope they change the name of the show or they'll be in BOUCOUP trouble with viewers, advertisers, etc. Inside for another thought... -- The Chief, 08:36:37 03/16/11 Wed [1]

Question...
WHY is it okay to say Good CHRISTIAN B*****??

Would there ever be a show Good JEWISH B*****?
Or what about Good MUSLIM B*****?
Good BUDDHIST B*****?

Seriously. This is religious BASHING on the first order, and I HATE that DJE has chosen to be associated with it. The stereotyping and bashing will not be confined to the title either, if Hollywood is true-to-form, and the show will tank in a large majority of the country.

[> [> [> I was thinking the same thing about how they could never get awau with bashing any other religion. I read somewhere that this is based on a book and that was the title of the book, but that the TV title is "temporary", meaning that it can be changed. Let's hope so! -- JAG Junkie (Ronda), 19:44:01 03/16/11 Wed [1]

[> This show is listed on IMDB. On the right side of the page (link inside) under 'Related News' are several articles about the show which I think are worth looking at. Apparently the show is based on a book of the same name, the title is considered temporary, and filming hasn't started yet. -- SeaBeth, 11:33:47 03/16/11 Wed [1]

[> Very well said,Chief. Sadly Hallmark is more family friendly these days than Disney.I even love Lifetime's Sunday night where its all about patriotic and supporting our troops theme.I miss back in the days Disney has the wonderful world of Disney on Sunday nights.Ever more sadly they will use this stunt to get free publicity. The more controversial it gets it sells and is watercooler buzz. -- Gretchen, 18:36:58 03/16/11 Wed [1]
