What you saw was what you got ,a cheerful happy youngster. The For'd. Well deck of the Winchester became very popular in the evenings awaiting ,the young fella.to finish strapping up or whatever,to bring out his guitar. There were other a.bs. coxn's of the launches on Carribean Cruises, that welcomed having him in their Boat as the Catering representative. On the Mauretania's last run, he found time .after his Broadway performance of "Half A sixpence" to come on board ,meet some of his shipmates .and to contribute a piece to the Ship's Crew Magazine. And it's legend ,when travelling to a South African Gig on I think ,The Capetown Castle. He was approached to entertain the Passengers .He agreed on the proviso he also did one for the Crew.Apparently the Famous Capt. Logger Lloyd.wanted one show ,Passengers only. Tommy won the day. No Crew No Show. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
