Date Posted: 11/11/07 11:44am In reply to: Vernon 's message, "Remembrance Day (Armistice Day)" on 7/11/07 11:48pm I have just watched that great ceremony at the Cenataph & official wreaths were laid for the MN Service, the fishing fleet & air merchant service. Before the march past of the Vets, there were some interviews of those about to take part. One of them was a lovely lady called Vivienne Ash, who was marching for the MN Association in memory of her father who died when the Mannakee (I apologise, I don't know how to spell that but I am sure you will all know the vessel I mean)was torpedoed with the loss of all crew. The march past is being led by the Falklands Veterans - whose 25th Anniversary is this year. It makes all the local internet squabbling look small I feel.
