Date Posted: 11/11/07 10:45pm In reply to: Connie Newman 's message, "Re: Remembrance Day (Armistice Day)" on 11/11/07 11:44am I work as a chef in a Residential Hotel at Folkestone. Today I stopped working at 11.00. in rememberance of all those that fought for our country in the last 2 wars. I had a couple of young girls working with me who stated " I don't understand what this remberance is all about, so why have we to be quiet for a few minutes"??? I wonder if times were different, without all of todays luxuries E.G, mobile phones etc, what life would be like for them, and the sad life of all those that were killed, to provide the standard of life that we have today. ARE WE ANY HAPPIER THAN THOSE YEARS AGO?..... Take care Terry Willcox [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
