Probably not as important on passenger ships as on tankers and tramps, but on those, your own radio was a luxury, Any fond memories of the best models? for me it was the "Pye marine" ( 17 quid in Rotterdam) If I remember correctly it boasted seven short wave bands, Great set. Entertainment system suplied on Br tankers in those days was a wind up gramaphone. Cheers Albi
