I take it poggie means unemployment benifit,we call it the dole up north,there was one inside the Glasgow Pool so you didn't have to go elswhere for it.As Colin said you could get it if you were established,but you could also get it if you were unestablished as i was(that is pool money)As for the committee's when i got it there was three people in front of me,one was a shipowners rep the second was the head man in the Pool and as for the third i have'nt a clue, and of course the union man who was of no use at all.It did'nt affect me getting jobs after that, as a DR would have done.
