& I just read another board that boys tan for the O. Is this true? Should I have him use the tanner on his face?

In our school, our tcrg has advised bronzer for the boys. I don't think I would dare use a tanner on my ds's face --too many possibilities for orange and streaks. Good luck at the O.

[> We don't. I think it depends on your son and his TC -- 7kids4us, 18:59:15 11/14/09 Sat [1]

[> This is my U14 son's 5th O. We have never used tanner. I don't think anyone else does in his competition either. -- Pasty white and proud. . . ., 19:31:59 11/14/09 Sat [1]

[> I just told my son he should get some sun on his face. He looked at me like I had 3 heads. He's looking pasty and I think a glow will look nice. Won't use tanner, though. -- I'll take 'im to the park, 16:21:41 11/15/09 Sun [1]

[> I've never heard tanner on boys and he's been doing this for awhile. I'd be careful, some old style judges might not like to see tan on the boys faces. Hate to be sexist, but we're used to seeing the tanner on girls legs and even some faces, but boys... -- my son would not do it I'm sure, 17:39:47 11/15/09 Sun [1]

[> Since it is just face, maybe a bit of bronzing powder on his nose and cheeks? Arbonne makes one that I swear bt, I wear it and no other makeup all summer long! Looks very natural (important for the boys). -- DS mom, 17:50:44 11/15/09 Sun [1]

[> No tanner for my ds or other boys in our school, but we do use a little bronzer - takes the edge off. And for teams, it helps them not look so pale next to the girls. Stage lights and fluorescent lights just aren't flattering -- what we do, 05:43:19 11/16/09 Mon [1]

[> There was a boy at Nationals this year and God love him he looked ridiculous with his bronzer or tanner. Everyone in our region knows how white he is and all of a sudden he turns up looking very tanned. His mother said his TC who is a man btw , told him to do it. All I can say is shame on him for making this poor kids who is a lovely dancer, the laughing stock of all the other boys. -- blue white and proud LOL, 06:25:07 11/16/09 Mon [1]

[> My son would never dream of using bronzer. However, he did want to get a few highlights in his hair and I think I smeared on some concealer at the last minute to cover up a new blemish, that's about it! -- reelboys, 08:47:40 11/26/09 Thu [1]

[> A little bronzer, and that's it....just enough to give a little glow / take the edge off. Don't think I'd ever use tanner - imagine sending him to school that way? -- boy mom, 11:21:06 01/09/10 Sat [1]

[> U20 Guy here... been dancing for 15 years, never touched makeup. Not sure any of my dancing buddies do either. No tanner, not nothing. -- Do it if you want... but I've been around the block and haven't seen much of it, 00:37:25 01/19/10 Tue [1]
