  • Any older boys remember going through difficult times with their dancing? -- mom of ds, 09:22:38 02/13/08 Wed [12]
My son hasn't been dancing as well as he used to. He's having arm issues, lift issues, stuff he hasn't had for a while now. He's also starting to go through puberty and I wonder if he's having trouble adjusting to his new (much taller!) body. He hasn't been doing as well in competition and I don't want him to get frustrated. Anyone have/had a similiar situation?

  • boys pants -- so many questions, 20:01:36 01/28/08 Mon [10]
Sorry to ask again because I know the topic has been brought up before. My ds needs new pants. I recall someone mentioned Banana Republic pants for girls/women. Does anyone know how the sizes compare as in what am I actually looking for? My ds will not hear of actually trying on girls pants in the store, but is willing to try them if they fit better than boys' pants. He wears a 14 or 16 depending on the cut of the pants.
    Thanks for any help.

surely there is something we can all talk about so I don'tget involved in 'the great tights debate' any longer.

    Any suggestions??

  • boys comps-to those organizing feis' please be certain to run enough comps at same time inorder for boys to get some kind of break between rounds. This weekend's feis our champs group had 8 guys (U17, U18, 19+ combined. last 2 got off stage from HS and stage hand yelling and calling for 1st group to get on w/reel, We didn't even have a chance to sit and change shoes or get a drink. We were throwing the shoes on as we were running back to the stage. Same for after Reel, calling for first set and calling out that we would be dropped from comp. We were changing shoes! Dripping of sweat and dying of thirst went back on stage. rediculously dangerous -- upset guy (keep this in mind please), 20:25:48 01/21/08 Mon [11]

The entries are listed on their website and so far there are only one or two other boys in their comps. Just curious! Thanks.

Does anyone know of a chain store (preferably in the Cleveland/Akron area) that would carry tuxedo or other good pants for a teenage boy to wear to Irish dance? Do not really want to spend more than $100.00, but might consider upping it a bit because I think he is full grown.

Just wanted to say that I have dealt with this company thru its web site twice to buy vests and ties for my sons. They are great and easy to work with. They will customize if they can. Peter answers all the email within a day. I paid $20 for shipping from UK to US. Check it out if you are in the market for vests.

  • Irish Dancer completes Nashville Country CD-- Take A Listen! -- Sarah Marince Fan Club, 09:10:15 12/22/07 Sat [5]
Sarah Marince, a 17 year old Irish dancer with the Bell School in Pittsburgh, PA has spent the past few months on Music Row in Nashville completing her first Nashville CD titled "Somebody Like You." Take a listen...it's awesome! You can catch some of her songs on her music myspace which is www.myspace.com/sarahmarince. Her CD will be available for sale on CDBaby.com and other local Pittsburgh retailers the second week of January. Her CD Release Party is scheduled for January 12...go to her myspace for details. Her CD is currently being shopped to major record labels and she would love the support of the Irish Dance commnity!!! Record labels check the plays on her myspace...so if everyone would check it out and give her songs a listen...it would be a great help to Sarah moving forward.Sarah began her career singing at local feisanna and has been competing for the Bell School for nine years...let's show our support for one of our own!!

    Thanks! Merry Christmas!
