  • I agree, but it is what it is. I did some more checking - the regular stage in the Perelman theater set up for dance/drama is 83 ft X 40 ft - even if they don't use it all, it is huge, actually as big as the Verizon Hall stage of 45 X 77 ft. From a dancer perspective, they will be in great shape, with a great stage, AND the hall will be small enough that they will be able to hear themselves better. • I have to agree, on all ends. The issue is simply that by putting the boys in the smaller auditorium, they are taken out of the "center ring" so to speak, and that is unfortunate. On the other hand, the distractions and shortcomings of the larger ballroom will be gone (talking, excessive movement, unable to hear the dancers, etc), and the competitors and audience will likely have an overall more enjoyable experience. But the concerns are that the boys are all to often set aside as not as good or not as worthy of the girls, which is a real shame. • Might they be too small, cramping the foot? My guys wear capezios/so dancas and I send them off to Rutherford to have the heels put on. They tried a stiff soled shoe and immediately rejected them. (NT) -- Good luck, 04:30:32 02/01/09 Sun
• I have never found better shoes. DS just had to strengthen his foot with excercises. Going up on tippy toe 50 times, flexing the foot 50 times, picking up small items from the floor into a bowl with toes, scrunching (sp?) a towel laid out on floor with toes. • Actually the shoes are a little big. The ony reason I thought maybe it was the shoes (they are the basic shoes with soft heel) was from September until January he danced in sock feet and didn't have a problem and the we put the shoes on and the cramps started.   • I have never gotten the reasoning here either. I would be fine with allowing the boys to be in their own groups for majors, or to put them in their own group if there are at least 5.
