Any one of the thousands of people who follow pageantry could have tipped off WGN to the Change.org petition. The formers, parents, volunteers, and contestants had been waiting 9 years -9 YEARS- for the MAO to do something. How long were they to wait before they were to contact the media? 10 years? 15?? Make no mistake, the ONLY reason the MAO came to Merion, IL was because of the medias involvement. The ONLY reason AS was FINALLY dealt with by the MAO was the medias involvement. The blame for the media attention lands directly on the MAO itself, brought on by years of frustration, upset, and hopelessness caused by the lack of action by the MAO. WGN was already involved. The Formers held a conference call to decide if they should all go on camera. Some, foolishly, convinced the rest that they should go as a group to MAO since only each had gone individually during their year without any result. WGN not involved in their discussion about how to communicate to MAO however they should have been smarter knowing MAO turned a deaf ear to them before and the only thing MAO fears is scrutiny by the press. If thy can keep problems internal they do not have to act. The Formers could not get their act together as one or more of them gave the link to their cloud site to an outsider, not authorized to view the talking points they were drafting. One or more of the formers was a mole. You can figure it out. They did nothing as a group. A few spoke to Mark while he was in Marion. I found it very interesting that the one lady on the broadcast said Mark Angeli advised them that people that go to the media lose and people who don't go to the media get action. Riiiiiight. THE TRUTH ABOUT WGN: I know who got WGN involved because it was I. After being goaded by AS and her entourage to call the press, go on Jerry Springer and the likes, I thought it was time! Once MAO ignored the slew of letters that we sent to them last summer, I decided to ask a favor from a friend. That was good, because soon after, AS fired the Chicago group, and the petition went out. There was thankfully a growing group that decided that AS was not going to do what she did to us, to anyone else. I always said, strength in numbers, and this is proof! AS just picked the wrong person to mess with and has gotten what she asked for. But I have a couple of thoughts about this: 1) If Jane Ann was a traitor to Amalia, we're all thankful for that. 2) Jane Ann was removed because she was part of an incompetent administration. 3) Your feelings about Jane Ann are largely irrelevant.
