Hello Tommie! Great to 'see' you again! Hope you've been well. I appreciate you checking out the actor in question and that you're in agreement with Paddy McQuire. I was actually going to post a note that I'd come to no conclusion on the matter after posting the same frame grab of McQuire and Rogers from 'Going to Congress' at Facebook. Only response came from Steve Massa who thought it also resembled Hugh Saxon, which it sort of does. Brent Walker sided with Saxon as well. Saxon & McQuire both seem to have the same eyes, and both did, coincidentally, work together at Vogue in 1916 and 1917. But Saxon seemed to look older to me, and had less hair than Paddy. Wish we could get another sharp eyed head/facial features analyst involved; a shame there's only a handful of us who study and are devoted to the obscurest of the obscure. And regarding McQuire as being British, he was born on Sept 21, 1879 in New Orleans, LA and, as a comedian, travelled everywhere as Harris McQuire. He was Irish and adopted the nickname of 'Paddy', his stage character at least as early as the time he entered films with Chaplin at Essanay. I think the article you refer to, Tom, erroneously meant to reference Billy Armstrong, not McQuire, who as we know was a Karno player. And BTW, I do believe the older balding gent in Lord's unidentified players of L&H's "Big Business" is Hugh Saxon. Thank you, Tommie and Dave, Jessie, et al, stay well my friends and Happy Holidays too! Cheers! - SteveR
