I have newspaper reports of a MICKEY ROSS McGUIRE (age 19) who was sitting in the last car of a roller coaster, sitting next to his his girlfriend (16) and probably stood up and was tossed out and fell 50' and died of his injuries the next day. His brother (20) was sitting with his girl a few cars up but didn't know what had happened as they couldn't hear the girlfriend's screaming.

I can match the birth and death dates of this "MICKEY McGUIRE" with the one posted by ANONYMOUS using the 1940 Census and birth and death indexes. The Mom with him at the hospital when he died (Mrs.NELL McGUIRE) matches the records. but the brother (JAMES) does not. The father is not mentioned but he should be "LON" and the brother should be "LON" too.
MICKEY was in films 'til 1950. One news article says that he was a "welder" which is plausible after a 6 year acting gap.
I thought it unusual that none of the short news articles mentioned his acting.
If I can find an obituary or Death Certificate, they may mention his acting.
Until I or someone can come up with an "acting" or entertainment industry link for this guy, I reserve judgement that he is the one who worked for ROACH but give him about a 75% probability of being the same guy who died in the roller coaster accident.
If you want the sources for this guy, I'll post them.

Interestingly, in the 1940 Census, MICKEY ROONEY (age 19) gave his name as "MICKY McGUIRE"! The Census Taker had the name (ROONEY) in parentheses in front of the name but it was crossed out. He was an "artist", "motion pictures" and made $35,000 in 1939. He was living with his Mom, NELL, and his stepfather. They lived on the $75,000 ranch owned free and clear by the stepfather (maybe).
Also living with them on the ranch was the 21 year-old actor who was MICKEY ROONEY's acting double, making $1800 per year.
Not too confusing, is it?
