I can't ever remember saying I'm sorry in the middle of a spanking and expecting it to stop but I'm sure I did. When spankings were taking place in our house I was to busy focusing on the fact that my bottom was being warmed by the hairbrush to say things other that no and please stop I won't do it again and kicking and squirming trying to get my bottom out of the way of the hairbrush.

As for stopping the sting. I must of realized early on that the only thing I could do was to rub and rub and rub and still the sting lingered on. Maybe after fifteen minutes it would start to slow down but it stung for a couple of hours at least at what seemed full strength although I usually found myself rejoining family activities with a smarting bottom.

As for the always being surprised when the first one landed? Yes and I usually gasped when it happened and was already crying because I knew and dreaded what was coming.
