[> [> Subject: Akron-Canton is definitely gone. Charmae I’m sure will be back. Jackie almost didn’t do it last year so who knows about that and Regina is undecided. Most of them are really mad about the open virtual sweeps and I see why. There’s no incentive to compete in a local now. Most of their scholarships aren’t worth what it costs to participate (not just the entry fees) There’s only 10 girls coming back from last year if what they’ve said is true. The girls doing Volunteer can’t do North Coast even if they plan to come back to MO after that. Also, there are girls who do not want Don and Jan or Dolly as their EDs so that leaves Clayland. My prediction is that Emily L. will be North Coast, Madison will be Clayland, Caitlin will be Maple City. The rest will probably wait for sweeps.

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: Have you ever heard of a girl winning the same local in recent times? No because once you’ve been Miss (Local Title) you cannot be it again, just like you can’t be Miss (Any State) twice. The weird exception that wasn’t meant to happen is that if a local has 2 titles then they can give the candidate a title they haven’t had before. (An example is you can be Shawnee one year and Portsmouth the next.) The reason this is a rule is that if a local ED loves a particular titleholder they can win there every other year until they age out. This is a bad look (not that Ohio cares) because it looks like it’s rigged for that girl to win there over and over.

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: You're so confidently incorrect. A girl most certainly can hold the same title, just not consecutively. A girl can be Miss Clayland 2022, take a year off in 2023 (or hold a different title), then compete for Miss Clayland again in 2024. Your 'weird exception' of locals adding a title so a winner of the original title can stay with the local another year WAS meant for that very purpose in a few cases. Cap City/ Franklin Co and Miss Maumee Valley, All American City & Fallen Timbers come to mind.

Hannah Zimmerman was Miss Miami Valley in both 2016 and 2018. Baylee Joy Martin is currently Miss Portsmouth and she also held that same title in 2019.

She will do what she is told. She won’t make any waves at all. She’s perfect. Sadly though she will do horribly at MA where Betta will minimally make top 10

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: Madison will be Miss Ohio-- 2022. Not for any controversy like last year, but I think Betta is a one in ten-thousand contestant. That might be an understatement. Every year at MA there are girls who have it all and have a shot, but oh so rarely do we see a girl that has that something special. And she's not just talented, but exceptionally talented. She has the beauty, intellect, and poise but the differentiator is her demeanor. She presents mentally solid, disciplined, kind, and engaged. There's no smarmy, eye-rolling pageantyness to her. She doesn't need it. She doesn't need any gimmicks, cause imo, she's the real deal. (even if she isn't crowned)

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: Madison Miller was 1RU to Miss Ohio 2022 Betta Nies, so if Betta is crowned MA, the crown would be offered to Madison, then 2RU Baylee Joy Martin, then 3RU Olivia Kentner, then 4RU Caitlin Seifert. I don't think it would go past her. Madison and Bailey both have 4 seasons left, so they could finish off this year, take a year off and come back and compete again with all that experience under their belt.

[> [> Subject: Akron Canton had become the best local EDs. They were supportive and fair to all the girls. I wish we had 20 locals like that! They left because of 2 problems for sure

1. Lora winning MO under so much scrutiny + covid took a toll on everything and they couldn’t get even 4 girls for it to stay a closed competition which is what they’d always done.

2. Now that MA has decided to allow virtual sweeps with no requirement to have done even one local it hurts all the other local programs. Why do one if you think you’ll get one of the sweeps titles? As more locals drop there will be more sweeps titles available. There’s also won’t be as big of a stigma about having a sweeps title if the veterans start all going for those.

[> [> [> Subject: I wish they would give it one more year… I don’t think anyone knew how difficult it would be to get contestants after Covid. The Lora thing was unknown to any prospective contestants. Betta is amazing and meeting everyone and anyone to drum up Participation. Can’t they have it one more time and see… the digital sweeps need to go, but they won’t if everyone gives in and cancels.

[> [> [> [> Subject: Do you realize of the 4 open locals in 2021- A/C, Clayland, Maple City, & North Coast- there were only TWO recruits without a connection to the MAO? Lynsey Stonebraker and Mozie Ann van Raaij and they were both from the fair queen circuit and knew Lora. So while it may look like Covid was a factor, they had 2 years to recruit!!

[> [> [> [> [> Subject: And absolutely every last hamlet of the pageant community in Ohio knows of the "Lora thing". The problem is the same as it's always been-- Akron Canton quit because of the long term corruption. I heard the reason they decided to hold their pageant last year was because they already had paid the deposit on the venue & had scholarship money.

[> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: I agree that SO wouldn’t give it up by choice but also he can’t. It’s now a MA/every State thing so it’s staying. What he should do is just get rid of all the locals and let everyone do virtual for 25 titles. Why play the game anymore? It’s basically a buy-in like USA now but weeding out the worst of the worst. I mean he didn’t even give sweeps titles to all the girls who actually did locals
