[> Subject: Cassandra looked good! Likely your Miss Ohio this year
[> [> Subject: Cass and Lindi are the predicted winners this year. Cassandra’s walk and talent are untouchable and that little Lindi is the sweetest girl who already has published a children’s book, has a non profit and works her csi she’s also gorgeous
[> [> [> Subject: Cass is a great pick, Lindi however… Steven won’t pick another ASL talent. It didn’t do as good as he thought and Allie’s claim was her being to first to ever do it on the MAT stage. She’s so sweet but not MOT quality.
[> [> [> [> Subject: Steven pick?. Last I knew was the director not a judge. He says all the time he has no say in the winner and he is also surprised when they are announced.
[> [> [> Subject: You clearly haven’t seen Lind this year. She has stepped up her game this year. Also, ASL has been done and they even have had a deaf Miss America.. talent is about entertaining and she very much does that. She’s so fun to watch. MOT isn’t all about talent anyway. Scores this year are changing to 25% across the board. Lindi def has the face and heart of a MOT.
[> [> [> [> Subject: I know it’s been done, that was my point. Heather Whitestone did Ballet en pointe ( a real talent). Steven and Brooke give their opinions to the judges and I’m sure they say they want an impressive talent like MAT and MA. Also when was the last time a repeat girl won? Ali, Allie, Paisley, Cassandra, Maddy.
[> [> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: Incorrect…Madison Defrank did not win until, her 2nd year and several before her as well How ugly to discourage teenage girls from trying again at something they love.
[> [> [> [> Subject: I've seen Lindi compete. She's a gorgeous girl, with a good stage personality, but ASL is NOT a talent. You know why-- bc she doesn't know sign language. I do not find it entertaining whatsoever, but gimmicky in an unflattering way. It's like a girl who learns one song on the piano-- it doesn't make her a pianist, it just makes everyone uncomfortable watching her struggle bc she doesn't have the talent.

I'm good with never having to sit through another ASL onstage again

. Her csi is around sign language. Her parent is a special education teacher and she is going to college to become a speech and language pathologists. She loves and knows sign language. I’ve actually watched her and her mother have an entire conversation in sign language lol Apparently, it’s just fine since she just WON talent. Also, MO is not a talent competition. It’s only 1/4 of the score. Be kind or shut up (NT) -
[> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: Honey, her mother being an intervention specialist does not make Lindi fluent in sign language (or her mother, as ISs aren't trained in sign language as a practice.) Her aspiring as a High Schooler to be a speech and language pathologist 6 long years from now does not make Lindi fluent in sign language. You're looking a little foolish hyping a girl that won talent against 3 girls- one who knows one beginner song on the piano with no background track; one who is pitchy; & the other I can't even recall. Finally, did you notice no one here has claimed MO is a talent show- that's just cope to defend weak talents.

[> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: I just saw a FB post of Lindi's when she was Miss North Coast's Teen, raising awareness for breast cancer, where she said when she was growing up her mother worked in an oncology clinic, not as an Intervention Specialist (which requires a master's degree).
[> [> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: One does not need a masters degree to be an Intervention Specialist. It's just a special education teacher who has a bachelor's degree. Its name is so special education students are not signaled out. Some IS have their own classroom and have a push in program; others help more like a teacher's aid by pushing into a regular teacher's classroom. ****Very basic definition. Again, no master's degree needed.
[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: Her mom didn’t work in oncology, she’s had cancer three times, she has always been a teacher or worked with special needs children. Maybe you should have a conversation with a titleholder before you make assumptions about their life. She’s 17, she may not be completely fluent in ASL but it IS a part of her csi. I think it’s pathetic how you all make assumptions about young women without having a single conversation with them.
[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: Pageant titleholders are public figures. The public are not expected to personally interview contestants. You're naive to expect the public to know your girl like you do personally.

When girls are hyped, the boards will correct them if it's out of line.

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: You did not see a post of her at North Coast. That is Lexy Gullett. Hard to take your seriously when you don’t even know who is who
[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: You assume this person is the same who posted about Lindi. Hard to take you seriously when you don't even realize that.
[> [> [> [> Subject: “Scores this year are changing to 25% across the board.” That’s bad news for girls with a strong interview & weak fitness. With interview being worth 10% less, if given 10’s across the board, the possible interview points drop from 105 to 75, a HUGE 30pt loss in their best competition. Fitness will be worth more, from 60pts to 75pts. Same for gown, which hurts girls who aren’t fit. You say “MOT isn’t all about talent anyway,” so interesting they would INCREASE its worth, from 60 to 75pts. TL;DR 25% scoring across the board favors strong stage competitors. It’s good for talented, fit girls who aren’t as accomplished or mature as others in interview. The score change hurts girls who excel in interview and count on that score to make up for weaker stage competitions.
[> [> [> [> [> Subject: Your math isn’t mathing. Making it even across the board provides opportunity for a well rounded young lady who can do well in all areas to be the winner. I personally feel it evens the playing field for everyone.
[> [> [> [> [> [> Subject: I was responding to the post above mine on the thread regarding Lindi & rebutting "MOT isn’t all about talent anyway. Scores this year are changing to 25% across the board." I WASN'T arguing the pros & cons of a rumored 25% scoring change, so your opinion on that has nothing to do with my post.

FFS, the math is dead on. Talent changing from 20% to 25 IS an INCREASE, no matter how you might math it
