Subject: Paige Kuehne- seems sweet as pie & the All American girl, is pitchy and needs a new talent song better suited for her voice. Piper Lambert, another super sweet girl, needs the right song as well. Caitlin Cramer- her gorgeous face, above average talent & strong interview are why she's placing. Traditionally girls who aren't pursuing college couldn't win a local. That may still apply with state for her & Bryn Hasenaur. Kalli Gregory needs a serious glow-up of her wardrobe & styling. Her interview outfit of a modest black dress with low pumps looks like she's going to a funeral, especially next to the other girls' outfits. She can tap, she just needs a choreographer to better showcase it (& an actual costume- what she's got going on isn't cutting it for a pageant). And clunky, chunky gown shoes have got to go for all girls (incl Faith Claypool wearing those ridiculous tippy-tops which Robin has banned at MA).

[> [> [> [> Subject: The extra inch in height you get from TTs, to try to look more weight height proportionate, is ruined by the clumsy, awkward aesthetic of those shoes. It causes me anxiety watching girls teetering around stage on them. It's not doing any girl any favors, it just ends up looking trashy.

[> [> Subject: Abby Lipinski is a smart girl who comes off very genuine. It's hard to get your footing in the MAO without a traditional talent, or an exceptionally dynamic Her Story (like Madison taking off in a fighter jet). Dental hygiene is a tough sell, so there has to be some creative thinking & raz-ma-taz involved w costuming?, jokes?, a theme? "Be a smart mouth- brush twice daily". Start brainstorming. Julia DePenti is a breath of fresh air. I like her spunk & she has a fun dance talent. She strikes me as young, so is doing the right thing by gaining experience in the program.

[> [> [> Subject: Lexie Miller is a very strong stage competitor, so she needs to find an interview coach and arrange some mock interviews. Mika Smith is another with the right elements, who needs to know how to package it for the MAO. She’d get a quick boost in scores by making her walk look effortless. My only advice to Caitlyn Siefert is to go last. When competitors are very close, the girl who goes last has the advantage.

[> [> [> [> Subject: Mika Smith needs to do with her walk what she did with her teeth - a tremendous improvement. She's gorgeous! That walk is painful to watch and the sob story she seems to tell over and over and over and over again is getting really old.

[> [> [> [> [> Subject: I think Mika is the most beautiful girl competing. Her white skin against her black hair and her features are stunning. She's got the body, she just needs to cut out the sky high stilettos and learn how to walk.

she has a good wardrobe, but it's looking tight. may be solved by having the right height shoe

[> [> [> Subject: Juli P - I love her too. She's not young, a graduate student actually but I agree she comes off that way. The dance just needs the transitions polished and smoothed. She has talent, but it doesn't flow from movement to movement. The dance costume says, "I'm not serious; don't pick me!"

[> [> [> [> Subject: Yeah, Juli strikes me as a girl doing pageants just to have fun. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, there are many reasons to compete, but I'm guessing she'll only win if there's no one more serious than her competing. Given she's in grad school, the judges have picked up there's a disconnect between her age and her presentation. I'm wondering if she's ever consulted a coach (that knows the Ohio MAO program). I think all it would take is some experienced guidance and quick tweaks (like you said, costuming) & she could win a local.
