Just having a little fun here. Which schools would you like to see us join up with if they were to create an all-sports Catholic sports conference? What about a football only Catholic schools conference (FYI, Rambacker, Penn St. is not a Catholic school).

Interestingly, it was Rambacker's comment about fulfilling the mission of the university by going CAA that made me post this ... after all, what could be more in line with our mission than being affiliated with a big time Catholic sports conference? (Also, 2nd fyi for Rambacker ... yes, we know that Notre Dame IS a Catholic school and they'll be first on your wish list). Again, just having fun here.

How about a scholarship football conference with Holy Cross, Georgetown, Villanova, Colgate, Lehigh, Richmond and William & Mary. Out of conference opponents: (1) Army or Duke (2) Delaware (3) Harvard, Yale or Princeton (4) Hofstra. (NT)JohnG9220:23:51 03/13/05 Sun

I don't think we need an all Catholic football conference. I'd rather play a good mix of top level 1-AA programs like Villanova, William and Mary, Richmond, Delaware, etc. and continue to schedule two Patriot League teams plus Columbia per season. By the way, I don't advocate a move to 1-A football. If that were to be considered, we would need to play competitvely and fund properly a full scholarship 1-AA team in the CAA for a number of years first. (NT)Rambacker15:01:25 03/14/05 Mon
