Subject: Can you imagine if Kornegay had played his home games on FieldTurf instead of in "the quagmire"? He would have had an even better season.

Hard to imagine a non-scholarship program could recruit a player of this ability. There must be some mistake. If we worked hard to attract these kinds of kids....oh wait, I've been told that it isn't possible. Great athletes won't go to schools in the Patriot League unless they come from disadvantaged families. (NT)An Old Coach00:36:31 12/15/04 Wed

Lucky they fell through the recruiting cracks... It is very difficult to have a student /athlete choose FU over a scholarship offer.. A close friend of mine is a PL Head Coach.. they target low income student/athletes, this way they aid is very similar to a scholly.. (and almost an equal playing field)...FU could play a solid OCC as well.. I hope FU goes to scholarship football...Why not field a better team, receive more exposure in A-10 and get a chance to play a 1-A each year.. (NT)EO08:06:27 12/15/04 Wed

Although very talented in high school, it’s my understanding that Kornegay wasn’t offered by any scholarship programs because of his height. Fortunately for us, he grew a few inches while at Fordham. Had he gotten an offer from a scholarship school (Villanova, Delaware, etc.) it’s doubtful he would have come to Fordham.
