5-6 and he inherited a decent core of experienced players, albeit with a young quarterback. Not too good of a job by Coach Foley.

There are no free lunches. This guy does not get 4 years to prove himself. He should be closely scrutinized next season.

This program is well funded, in great shape and there are no excuses.

You are entirely off base and out of line. We lost 2 games by a point and another in OT. He did not do a bad job. How did he get a free lunch? Also, who anointed you in charge to decide he does not get 4 years and should be "closely scrutinized"? Also, the program is NOT well funded. Our alumni donation penetration is next to pathetic. We have the poorest facilities in the league. The fact that we were in position to have a winning record is a major accomplishment. If you are going to run your mouth off, back it up with specifics. Otherwise, we do not need anymore armchair QBs (NT)ROWAN16:23:06 11/20/04 Sat

When you lose the core of the offense, it 's hard to go into the season with high expectations. From the four games I saw, we played pretty much to the level of our talent. I don't think the coach cost us any games with on the field decisions. Team preparation was probably ok. It is very hard to tell if you don't see practice. All in all, I think the Coach did a good job. The PL is better than many give it credit for. On funding, everything I've read saysour budget is at or above everyone elses. Facilities are another matter but how do you explain 3 good seasons on the same field? (NT)An Old Coach16:42:34 11/20/04 Sat

Rich, we are making great progress on raising money and facilities. The amount of $$ raised is great, but it is from a narrow group of folks. When I heard how many people donated above $100 I was shocked. We need more people gifting to make a difference instead of blaming the coach, bad calls, facilities, etc. (NT)ROWAN11:26:28 11/21/04 Sun

I agree with Joe and Rich, and feel as though 5-6 (my prediction in August) was in-line with reasonable expectations. Clearly, this team had its chances to win 9 games...but that's the way it goes. Foley did a good job and he acknowledged on FUV yesterday how that he was disappointed as we did not beat one good football team this year and squandered far too many opportunities. Importantly, we need to continue to fund the program and push for facility upgrades if we ever hope to become a consistent 7-8-9 win team. (NT)Smar Llabtoof13:32:16 11/21/04 Sun

all things considered i'm expecting the majority of players to stay and a solid incoming recruiting class. Otherwise might be reason for action. (NT)pjd17:09:04 11/21/04 Sun
