OK, FU is not D1 but too never have a plan to increase fan base is poor... promotions, billboards, newspaper ads with schedule, meet and greet players , ftbl schedules on Metro North , a billboard by GWB bridge with ftbl dates, a weekly 1/2 hr cable sports program YES/MSG/NEWS 12/ .. you may mention budget but FU does nothing to incorporate or generate interest to general public..... how does FU expect to generate a bigger fan base when all they ever do is alumni mailings... Good list of marketing tactics. Your best point however was the one about appearing to rely exclusively on promoting to students and alumni when they could also be targeting the general public. Budget is extremely important though, especially when you consider the need to evaluate cost and ROI for each tactic vs. the incremental revenue that would be produced. I think the bigger questions that remain unanswered are how strategic football is to Fordham's Administration, whether it's even a priority to have the stands packed, and if so who they want in those stands.
