Subject: full ride vs need based aid. If a student athlete had to choose between Villanova, Richmond, W and M and FU... they would rarely go to Fordham... sure FU is a good school and are other factors. Realistically if your child had a full scholly offer to one of these schools or had to pay 10K..15K..25K.. or whatever at FU.. as a parent or a student athlete even consider FU..probably not.. A-10 now.. enough of this need based Aid crap.. It is reverse discrimination as well..know a few parents who let their kids go elsewhere (to good schools) on full athletic ride rather than pay FU..

Not only that, I get the feeling that the PL's rule against athletic scholarships for football is a Title IX dodge, at least for at least some of the member schools. By running football aid through the financial aid department, you can pass the Title IX implications of that aid off through the student body as a whole, without concentrating the impact in the athletic department. The PL allows scholarships in other sports. Why not football? (NT)JoltinJoe21:41:55 11/30/04 Tue
