hello, my family. children of the night, that's what we are, and what a lovely night it is. it's so much more soothing than the garish light of day, so tranquil and enveloping in its soft, soothing whispers of sweet acceptance...
ahhh... (btw, medeis, the way you write in italics is the less-than sign < key, and then the letter 'i' without the quotes, and then close it with the greater-than key >, write the text you want italicized, and then close it with the less-than sign, backslash /, letter 'i' again, and then the greater-than sign. yes, yes, html is a great pain in the tail sometimes)
i have many things to be saying here tonight....
judy, you're always welcome with the rest of us, and i feel i can speak for all of us when i say that we'd all be filled with elation if you did join us.
myra, your words comfort me in a way that i haven't known in a very long time. sometimes i lie awake wondering if, as a gargoyle and as a person, my heart is the only thing that does not change back from stone...
your empathy, your caring, and your presence are anchors to my troubled heart. with you and medeis here with me, i know i shall soon heal from the ache of loss, and rejection. thank you. you mean worlds to me.
medeis, as always you've been here for me from the beginning. you welcomed me with open arms and a warm smile, and neither have faded. i value you as a true friend, and would trust you with my vulnerable stone body in daylight.
and as a gargoyle giving you trust with my life, i in turn swear that i shall place my life to guard you, to fight for you or beside you, and am your friend for as long as this crystal lake remains haven for us all.
storm, my loyalty and friendship are yours. you have given me sanctuary, warmth and welcome when you created this place. there is no thing else in the world quite like the place you rest your weary wings and call 'home.'
and now, on the brighter side of things...
medeis, i totally know what you mean about cleaning! i'm on this really freaky cleaning streak that females get on sometimes. you know what i'm talking about, right? when we get so frenzied we start cleaning the walls with this home-remedy mix and a toothbrush? (ha ha) i mean, c'mon, i cleaned out the garbage can with antibacterial dishsoap, water, and bleach! who does that?
not to mention the entire inspirational motivation for this is because i ordered a few new candleholders and they just arrived. (they're really cute! two are sunflowers about the size of tea saucers, one has a ladybug and the other a butterfly, and the other candleholder's a white sandcastle about a foot tall and absolutely breathtaking!) i can't show off my new pieces without a clean house to compliment them!
yeah yeah, for a self-declared lifetime tomboy i've certainly softened into a hoity-toity, froo-froo girl! (all together now: ewwwww!)
and anyway, that's my little bit of life i'm holding up for the amusement of others...
and finally, to dark: you and i are kin! well, you and my former life are kin. in a past life i, too, was a vampire. born in around 500 a.d., i like to think that i associated more with toreador, though i was in a class by myself. more a rogue than anything. i finally went into the fire a few hundred years ago, and was reborn as a gargoyle. i'm still trying to decide which i like better...
we have much to share.
then again, all of us here have very much to share with one another. i look forward to future discussions here.
