Subject: Fallen Cop 2014

The sad part of our service in Nam. We didn't want know the cop that was your replacement. You only knew their last name? You were going home.
One my friends. I was friends was Gary L Ames. He wented from hell Loring AFB to 12th APS Sandtown RVN. He put in for New York and got send back to Dow AFB. My parents drove me up in Fall 1967? to see Gary. We promise to stay in contact but for never had much contact.
I just found out he died 2/2014 in New York. One letter I got from him in years ago, he worked for Eastman Kodak, had health concerns "served his county during the Vietnam War."
My prayers go out to his family. I know he never joined VSPA?
