Subject: Mom Lehman update

I received the following text from Shayne Lehman today. “Hey Erlyce, I wanted to let you know that mom’s condition has deteriorated to being confined to a bed. She is so weak she can’t stand, and her memory is good for about a day now. Odds are good she is in her last month. Thought you would want to know. Shayne” ——————————————-

I’m with Mom now. Hospice is here taking her vitals and checking the places on her body that hurt, which are numerous. They are giving her morphine so they can do a more thorough checkup. We’ve been on a week-long vacation in Hawaii with our youngest daughter and family. We leave again on June 14 in our RV with plans to be gone the rest of the summer. I’m not sure what my plans would be if Rachel passes between mid-June and mid-August. We will see. For her sake, I wish this could be over. Myron begins his radiation treatment for prostate cancer in mid-August so he wanted to get in some special vacation time with our family before his treatment begins. The AZ summer heat has been bothering him more than it used to so a few months in northern Minnesota does him a world of good.
