Subject: Big Thank You

Recently I sent a picture of a beret flash to the U-Tapao dog handlers group hoping to find out more information. We found the beret in a back storage room at the SF Museum a week or so ago. The museum director immediately said it needed to be on display in the newly enlarged and improved Vietnam Era gallery. Guys of the 635th K-9 section stepped up and e-mails started to hit my box the next day. We identified the black beret ant the person who donated it, his years of service in Thailand, the years the beret was worn and conditions of it's wear. Records from the donor showed other items we needed to display, we located a RTG/SPS patch in our collection, and a kennel sign. Other individuals donated Thai currency and coins. The case will now be full of Thai handler stuff and will sit beneath a 56th SPS display , knife 13 display and a few other items. I have never seen a display dedicated to service in Thailand on display in the museum. We have one now Thanks to my brother dog handlers of Thailand you have done me proud. The SF Museum Board, the AETC Director of Museums, and I thank you for preserving this part of our history, WE TAKE CARE OF OUR OWN.

If you attend the reunion in 2017 come visit Your Security Forces Museum you are always welcome, it's your home.

Ken Neal LM 80, Member Security Forces Museum Board, and Docent
