Subject: VSPA MEMBERS IMPACTED BY HURRICANE HARVEY
In reply to: Hector Ramos 's message, "Fifty Counties in Texas impacted by H Harvey" on Mon, Aug 28 2017, 16:54:25 PDT

Hello to all. It's time to realize that negative comments back and forth do nothing to help. It's not about you. It's about thousands of people who have been evacuated and may have lost their homes. We have VSPA members down there who have had it bad. KNOCK IT OFF!

I have been calling VSPA members who live in the impacted areas from Corpus Christi, League City, Galveston and Houston. They have had a VERY ROUGH time. They have not lost their homes yet, but some of them have evacuated. Many are still in danger due to the contaminated flood waters. Some of our members have rescued others, many are helping their neighbors. Some have family with water in their homes. Please have some respect for our own.

We are working to identify the best possible route to provide some aid to the affected areas and will keep you posted. The process of recovery will last well beyond the lives of some of our members. Yes, because of our age and Agent Orange realated health issues, some VSPA members could die before they know that their families are safe or that they have recovered from Hurricane Harvey.

I will keep you posted.

Steve Gattis
