I was assign to Sanbdtown aka Cam Rahn Bay 1966/67 and only thing good about base was beaches.
We called our beach ......Baker Beach-----or South China Sea.
It was one few things we do off duty--swim-body surf- and toss Jeeps with NCO or Officers in Sea. Most times were drinking to much to care-----one officer or NCO objected---they got toss in.
My late told me--we got to swim for free----now resorts and cost money.
It has been 52 since my fun year in sun, beach and tons of sand.
