Subject: The 4th & more

The Declaration of Independence Day (actually July 2, 1776). Followed shortly thereafter by the Articles Of Confederation don’t mean nothin’ without the replacement Constitution (June 1788). Good time as any to read it or not.
Trying to remain positive with personal actions that I know help or have some form of impact on my community. PLEASE NOTE: This is not a run for upcoming VSPA Officer elections. I am in fact endorsing two men that I know will be an asset to VSPA going forward. They are Jerry Nelson for Pres. & Jaime Lleras for first VP. As for me, I will continue to support & contribute in any way I can. Here, in Myrtle Beach I’m again a VVA CH 925 Honor Guard member doing, for the most part , veteran funerals. I’ve also become a board member of The Myrtle Beach Youth Golf Foundation (MBJGF.org) as a result of the founders also giving back to the veteran community two hours of free golf clinics every Wednesday since March. The golf course/driving range has become my second home & connection to local vets of all eras. This wonderful outlet is what I look forward to beyond some periods of personal despair. Too little is made of actual service, empathy & compassion for others today by the clueless. I struggle with today’s prevalent insistence to capture my attention in order to influence my own stream of consciousness. My eyes were opened in 69 but in my waking time I’m still seeing 20/20. In spite of Father Time bearing down on us, there is time to make a difference. How do my brothers feel about your own i and or experiences with life’s slings and arrows? (Borrowed from Shakespeare). Happy 4th of July.
