I am concerned about the cost of going to Colorado Springs. It is a relatively small commuter airport, which causes the prices to skyrocket.

I just did a cursory search on airline costs. I used a search parameter for two people, traveling in Coach from Charleston, SC. I am also assuming that few people will be able to get a direct flight to Colorado Springs and will have to make a connection, in Denver.

The fare to a major airport (Denver) was $1485.20 (with taxes, fees, etc). The cost to go to Colorado Springs (70 miles away) is $2237.40, a difference of $750.20. That makes the cost from Denver to Colorado Springs cost more than $10 per mile. It would be more cost effective to get a rental car, in Denver, and drive to Colorado Springs.

I believe that during Reunion selection deliberations, we need to consider more than a location just having an airport. We should also consider how much it costs to get to that airport. Just sayin'.
