Subject: UPDATE: Larry Poss in LV VA hospital.
In reply to: Don Poss 's message, "Larry Poss in LV VA hospital" on Tue, May 03 2022, 18:16:43 PDT

The VA seemingly has not performed at the level they should be for Larry at this point. He's been in hospital for two days, and keeping him medicated seems the goal while they figure out their schedules and what to do.
Ann is riding herd on the nurses (who run when they see her coming). Nurses woke him up and prepared him for surgery at 4:45am yesterday, the 4th; except surgery was not scheduled that day. A doctor then came in said surgeries are never 'scheduled' before 0800 on any day. Later three doctors showed up but couldn't agree on juggling their schedules to either do surgery on his shoulder, replace his pacemaker, or have nurses do an ECHO gram (which they did), and that doctor will (and did) perform a groin-insert to determine if there is a blockage or aneurysm in that vein or near Larry's heart today, the 5th and this afternoon. The nurse called it a 'heart-catheterization vein insert' to see what is required; that was done this a.m. The results are the doctor would perform stent-surgery for that vein today the 5th. At this point he may not need surgery on his shoulder for now. The doctor said he wants to let Larry recover and heal then schedule accordingly on a later date, TBD.
Larry is still getting regular shots in both shoulders from the fall. Another doctor came in and said a 'bypass surgery' will not be required because of the stent surgery. The pacemaker 'person' is checking it out to see if it needs replaced or not, but he doesn't think so at this point. I don't know if his heart rate is still yo-yoing up and down as it was, but ass/u/me it isn't, but will check.
Ann said Larry is an unhappy camper with the Las Vegas VA because no one tells him anything. I don't know it that is the meds he's on and he is just forgetting, because he usually raves about his VA and has never trashed them in the past.
I'll follow up again asap. Don Poss
