Favorite memory on post freezing my tale off at Malestrom AFB Montana in 1962:

The QRT pickup (with no doors at 10 below zero) brought around the usual welcomed coffee in a paper cups. I was guarding the old KC-97s (Cadillac of the Air Force, in its day, with moaning brakes sounding like a herd of elephants), and there was a perimeter of sorts around the parking area with the red metal posts about three feet tall, and linked chains draped between.

I sat my paper cup on top of one of the red posts, and BS'd a little with the QRT. Within literally five minutes the coffee was frozen solid. I peeled the paper away and left the black coffee on the post :-), figuring it might be there in the Spring.
