Other than the Airman having to personally deal with this incident the public should be aware that a Military Base isn't open to the public other than a open house day. I can't verify but there used to be big signs at gates and placed along the fences warning of unauthorized entrance. Our career field from Air Police, Security Police and Security forces instruct and train in use of fire arms to protect Air Force Resorces such as Personnel, Material, Equipment and Property. I personally don't think we should be limited with firearms in the protection of these resources. Larry Gramps LM 401
