Hello Jackie Kays,

Surprised to get a follow up Message after these many years?
If you are looking down at VSPA, just know--we miss the
poetry you would have written and posted. Reading your
legion of poems posted at VSPA is always touching.

I still have the silver bullet on a chain you gave me. And
the memories of that typhoon night at Da Nang when you ran
into the world's densest minefield to carry the crashed aircrew
to safety--in the minefield. It cost you the SPS Air Force
career you loved.

I'm glad VSPA lived up to our motto, “We Take Care of Our
Own," and took on the politicians and military to award you
the Airman's Medal you long deserved.

Our VSPA Terminal organization is beginning to lose members
in greater numbers to Agent Orange. With advanced ages, our
reunions are still keeping up attendance-- and some members
come to say a last goodbye, as air flights, driving, and health
issues are growing more difficult.

I think you would have been proud of our association having
created two USAF Memorials for our 18 LOD SP men, and
five aircrewmen, who died in Knife-13 during the OP
Mayaguez Rescue.

See you on the other-side, Jackie, when my time comes.
Tell the guys they have not been forgotten.

Don Poss
